Hi Folks,
How are you doing? Things are good here. I’m in one of those “making things instead of writing about things” grooves right now. One of the things I have been playing with is a new toy I got on Black Friday: a Lap Loom!
This Harrisville Designs loom was one of Amazon’s lightning deals on Black Friday, so I got a good deal on it (well, Mike did, he’s the one who found it). I love it!
The kit came with yarn and a pattern, which I started working. When I realized there was no fringe in the pattern, I started hunting down instructions on how to do that. Then I went rogue. I was afraid I might run out of yarn if I went full width with the fringe, so I made my piece narrower and started weaving as I saw fit.
I still have work to do on this one. I’m playing with this in between my Christmas making. I also managed to bonk myself in the head with the loom. I’m not even sure how I did it, but it hurt and I had a teeny tiny little bruise on my forehead. It’s a pretty lame injury, really.
Until next time,
Annie
Something like this would be a wonderful gift idea for my daughter. It would be great if she started to knit at a young age 🙂

I had a Fisher Price loom when I was a kid and just loved it. Kinda wish I still had it. I think it is hard to go wrong with craft kits for kid gifts.
