Best of Missouri Hands “On the Road: The World We Create”

I will have three pieces in the Best of Missouri Hands “On the Road: The World We Create” exhibit at the Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin, Mo. BOMH has been working very hard to bring back these “On the Road” shows since the pandemic shut everything down. I’m excited that we’ve brought it back, and that we are going to have a show with such varied artwork from all over the state of Missouri.

My first piece is called “June.” This is an acrylic paint monoprint on cotton fiber with hand stitching and crochet accents:

This is “Sunny Marigolds,” a botanical monoprint on cotton with hand stitching. The yellow of the marigolds is the actual color from the plant:

And this is “Swirly, Twirly, Curly.” I used hyperbolic crochet to create this piece. In the center of the piece is a single stitch. With each row I crocheted, I added more stitches until it went from something kind of flat into something that curled over on itself over and over again. I don’t know how many stitches made it into the last row, but I do know that it took forever to make:

Thinking about the Ocean

Waiting on Waves Wrap | Webster Fiber Arts

Hi folks,

I ended up with both a textile design and a crochet piece that are blue-green and reminiscent of the sea. You get to see both of them right here!

Waiting on Waves is a big crocheted piece made of acrylic and nylon yarn that is nice and soft. I love these colors and the coziness of this super scarf.

Waiting on Waves is available in my Etsy shop. You can see more photos there, too!

Beautiful Briny Sea is a surface pattern design that is based on a drawing in my sketchbook. You can read more about it at Annie C Designs.

Until next time,
Annie

A Couple of New Things

Kool-Aid Cowl | Webster Fiber Arts

Hi folks,

I have a couple of new pieces to show you today! First up is a surface pattern design. A little while back, I shared my Ninja Stars Take a Backseat pattern design with you. Today, those ninja stars are front and center. You can read more about Ninja Stars at Annie C Designs.

My other new piece today is the Kool-Aid Cowl:

I crocheted this cowl from yarn I dyed with Kool-Aid. It is a really fun way to dye yarn, and can yield some pretty great results. I love the bright colors in this one.

See more photos and purchase on Etsy.

Until next time,
Annie
