I have been a busy gal the last couple of weeks. I’ve dyed yarn. I’ve blocked scarves. I’ve photographed finished pieces. I’ve started a few new pieces, too.
This is a gray scarf with cables. The yarn for this one is an acrylic/alpaca blend. It is so soft and cozy! I want to make a nest out of it and live in it this winter.

Hi folks,
I have been coveting the Intense Rainbow Mini Mochi yarn from Crystal Palace Yarns for a long time. It is so beautiful—just a full Roy G. Biv spectrum of wonderfulness.
I don’t know what is going to become of these little squares in the end. I have a couple of ideas, but I’ll have to see how many squares I have when I get through my two skeins of yarn. Whatever I end up with, it will be pretty nifty, because this yarn is awesome!

Hi folks,
I’ve started a new scarf! This one uses the leftover yarn I dyed for another project. I LOVE these bright colors—they make me so happy!
I’m stitching this one length-wise, changing colors each row. I’m using rows of single, half double, and double crochet. I picked my stitch at random the first time I used each color, now I am rotating through each of the three stitches with each color.
I have more blue yarn than I do the other colors, so that color will make up some sort of border on this one, but I will figure that out another day.

Hi folks,
I have a couple of pieces I’m working on right now. The first is a scarf using Lion Brand Amazing Yarn in Mesa.
As you can see, this one has a lot of open spaces in it. At one point, I picked it up and the sides curled in a little bit. I liked the look of that quite a bit. I might end up with a tube like thing when I am done with this one. Or not. We’ll see.
The other piece I’m working on is a blanket. This one is part of the B.hooked Crochet Challenge for Warm Up America! You can read more about it at the link, but the basic idea is that you make a blanket using the pattern B.hooked provides and ship it off to Warm Up America! Here’s my progress so far:
The recommended yarn for this project is Red Heart With Love. I checked out the colors online before heading to the store and worked up a few color combinations that I liked. I ended up going with the two-color combo of black and hot pink you see above. This restraint is unusual for me, as I usually go for ALL OF THE COLORS!
I really like the way this is turning out. I’ve been doing most of my work on this while watching Royals games. I think I’ll be making another one of these blankets for myself in blue and white to be my official baseball watching blanket.
